Denton Wellness Centre gets the green light

Construction is set to get underway later this year on a £14m leisure scheme in Tameside after the development received planning approval.

Developed by commercial developer Network Space, Denton Wellness Centre will include an eight-lane competition swimming pool, learner pool, spa area, fitness suite and tenpin bowling alley.

Pozzoni Architecture has designed the centre to be accessible by all. Other facilities will include meeting rooms, children’s soft play area and multi-use studio spaces.

The development is being delivered for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and following completion of the facility, will be managed by the Council’s leisure operator Active Tameside.

Willmott Dixon has been appointed for the construction which is expected to begin on site later this year. The development is set to be constructed over 15 months.
